Butterflies

butterfly card

Once again, I had a wonderful time at the Heirloom Paper Craft Festival this year. I spent time with Greg from Marco’s Paper and Susan Pickering Rothamel from USArtQuest. Susan has a fabulous book The Encyclopedia of Greeting Card Tools and Techniques that is a treasure to have in any crafter’s library.
Inspired by some goodies I took home from the festival, I made this card which I hope my mom will enjoy for Mother’s Day.

I started with a gold butterfly sticker, placed it on a sheet of double sided adhesive  added clear mirco beads and some shimmery Crystal Effectz I painted some beautiful iridescent watercolors on a sheet of paper and added to the back of adhesive. On the pink glossy paper I stamped the oval frame using a liquid Duo adhesive that dries tacky. Covered stamped image with some variegated leafing  Although it’s hard to see, I added some pink chalk around the white oval. The pink paper is mounted on some lovely black velvet paper. Who doesn’t like velvet!
Hope you find time to do something creative today.

all the best,

25 years and counting…..

Beaded 25th anniversary card

As I look back on the 25 years my husband and I have spent together, I can’t help but think how truly blessed we have been. My brother Eddie took this photo of us as we were rushing back to the car as it began raining. That is where our journey began.
Today I am very grateful and look forward to the road ahead as we walk it together.
(photo on this card has been covered with clear micro beads)

Wonder Tape Butterfly

Beaded Butterfly Tutorial

I finally got a chance to do my first Youtube Video! Although the sound isn’t the best (I really don’t sound like that do I?) and I needed my 13 year old son to help me load it on, I’ve gotten some really positive response. I hope to do 2 or 3 more in the next week or so. Will keep you posted.
This technique uses Starform Stickers, WondertapeRanger Blending solutions, Sharpie Markers and Micro Beads
THANKS for watching.

Micro Beaded Wedding Candle

beaded photo candle

The summer can’t be going this fast can it? Where did June go? Here is an idea for
a great gift. It is a micro beaded photo candle that I made using Wonder Tape. You can use a regular pillar candle or better yet, use the flameless flickering candle.
If you would like directions on making the candle, Suze Weinberg has posted them on her blog along with having a special sale on Wonder Tape for a limited time. Check out her blog from the list on the left.
Have a Happy 4th of July!
